1. How to update X-431?

2. How to use odometer programmer?

1) When we use mileage correction tool, no need to remove instrument cluster of most cars, but few cars need. If the car is installed with anti-theft system, how to avoid locking it when removing instrument cluster?

Step1. Ignition is off. Take off the car battery and connect the two wires of car to another outside battery.

Step2. Remove the instrument cluster
Step3. Connect odometer correction tool.
Step4. Ignition is on. Adjust mileage with odometer programmer
Step5. After finishing adjusting, ignition is off.
Step6. Replace instrument cluster and then car battery.

2) How to use odometer programmer?

Step1.Read brief user manual in the file named tacho universal in CD to get rough idea about the tool and usage.
Step2.Find the file named the car model in which you want to correct odometer in CD.

Step3.According to the instructions in the CD file, find the corresponding cables and then correct odometer step by step.

3) Similarities and differences between VAG tachoo2.2 and odometer programmer ?

Similarities: can change mileage of Audi w/skoda

Differences:

1.VAG tacho2.2 need a computer to work together, but odometer programmer neednt.

2. VAG tacho2.2 is much cheaper than odometer programmer.

3. Odometer programmer can diagnose most cars beside Audi w/skoda.

4. Only very professional technician can use VAG tacho2.2. When all immo info are read out, you have to find out where is the mileage in so many datas.Odometer programmer is easy to use.

4)How do I know what port I have to use for eeprom-programming?

For all 24Cxx eeproms use port 3.
For all 93Cx6 eeproms first read with port 1. If this is not successful, try port 2. If you still cannot read any data try port 0.
If reading the data still is not possible, unsolder the eeprom and read it with port 0. Unsoldered 93Cx6 eeproms are always read with port 0.

5) You cannot read the eeprom.

Did you join the contacts of the Chrystal?
Is the clip positioned correctly?
Is the chip clean (dust, colour ...)?
For 93Cx6 chips: Did you try to read with the other ports on the board?
Did you try to unsolder the chip and then read it (especially for Japanese cars)?

6) The program gives you a wrong value.

If there are different versions, also try the others. Reading will not destroy anything.

7) The value is read correctly, but does not change.

Try another value.

8) The car was programmed diagnostic, but the cluster does not show the new value.

Remove the fuse for the instrument for a moment or disconnect the battery.

9) You have programmed a 5 or 7 series BMW code plug but the new value is not displayed.

You have to disconnect all plugs from the cluster, and then the new value will appear.

10) The value has jumped back to the original.

For some cars you have to drive about 100 km until the new value is finally accepted by the system. This is especially for Audi, BMW and VW (models that are programmed diagnostic). Take care not to disconnect the battery before the car was driven about 100 km. This should be within the next days; otherwise the value may jump back, even if the battery is powerful enough.

11) The airbag lamp does not turn off.

You have turned ignition on while the cluster was disconnected from the car.

12) Programming was successful, but the display/needles do not work anymore.

If the database is ok, it is a hardware problem.
Check if all screws are fitting, as well as the plugs and cables.

13) There has been a programming mistake, the database is corrupted.

If you have saved the database before, you can restore it with the write all functions.

14) You have programmed a processor version and now the cluster is not working.

Did you cut a track or lift a pin? You have to bring everything back to the original state.

CAN (controller Area Network) is a new way to communicate with latest AUDI/VW, SEAT and SKODA, which is different from ISO9141 with K line. CAN bus is more faster than ISO9141, namely 500kbps and 10.4 kbps. If we want to use CAN bus, we need use new hardware and software.
